OG Anunoby Becomes First NBA Champion to Win Title Wearing Skechers Basketball Shoes

LOS ANGELES, June 15, 2026 (V SHADES) — Footwear company Skechers announced that New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby became the first NBA player to win a championship while wearing Skechers Basketball footwear.

Anunoby helped lead the Knicks to the 2026 NBA title while wearing Skechers performance basketball shoes throughout the postseason. The championship marks the latest milestone for Skechers Basketball, which launched in 2023 and has expanded its roster of professional athletes across the NBA and WNBA.

During the playoffs, Anunoby wore several player-exclusive Skechers Basketball designs, including the SKX Nexus “NYC Blue” edition featured during the NBA Finals.
Born in London and raised in Missouri, Anunoby played college basketball at Indiana University before being selected by the Toronto Raptors in the 2017 NBA Draft. He won his first NBA championship with Toronto in 2019 and captured his second title with New York in 2026.
Anunoby averaged a career-high 20.1 points per game during the postseason and has twice been named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
